SLO YOGA CENTER BARRE TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAM - JUNE 22-23, 2019
The mission of SLO Yoga Center’s Barre Teacher Training program is to deliver entry-level training to aspiring Barre Teachers who will provide safe and effective barre programs to the public. SLO Yoga Center delivers quality education, training tools and certification for individuals seeking to become qualified as a proficient teacher in the barre class industry. Our program places a strong emphasis on the development of the individual teaching voice, how to translate that voice in the class environment to form meaningful connections with your students, and how to deliver intelligent physical adjustments in order to promote proper alignment and longevity at the barre. We will work together in a hands on, learn by doing environment, beginning each training day with a master barre class. Expect to leave the program with a deeper understanding of your own body’s alignment and how to cue and adapt it in others, a desire to further develop your personal teaching style, two full sequences and playlists, and a passion to lead your students through a successful and memorable class experience. We look forward to being a part of your journey to helping others fall in love with barre as much as we have!

Lead Trainer, Chandra Hardester
Chandra Janae Hardester is a certified personal trainer, yoga and fitness educator, with a passion for the barre, and the life changing effects that come with it.
As a former professional ballerina, competitive dancer, and lifelong fitness addict, it’s only natural that Chandra would finally find her bliss in the barre fitness world. After a career ending injury took her down a different path, Chandra found her way to the Broadcast Journalism department at Cal Poly SLO. She spent over 13 years in corporate leadership before returning full time to her greatest love; inspiring movement in others.
Chandra holds multiple certifications across several modalities including those from ACE, AFAA, CorePower Yoga, Inferno Hot Pilates, and more, but her greatest passion will always be back where it all began; at the barre! Chandra completed her barre fitness training with Physique 57 and Exhale Barre, and hasn’t stopped delivering barre shakes since then.
Chandra is grateful for the opportunity to combine her love of fitness with her experience in leadership development and education. As a former Studio Director of a multi-modality boutique fitness studio, Chandra identified a strong need to serve the fitness teaching community beyond basic training. She founded the BarreNone Community in 2018 with the goal of bringing continuing education to fitness leaders in an instant. She looks forward to the next stage of the BN Community, as she brings the first of many licensed and in-house teacher trainings to the barre and dance fitness communities, with the number one goal of leveraging the individuality of each unique teacher to keep students engaged and excited to move for years to come!
